This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Sammie Lee Butler, who was born in Louisiana on May 13, 1946 and passed away on January 8, 2007 at the age of 60. We will remember him forever.
Sammie Lee Butler breathed his first breath of life on May 13, 1946 in Tululah, LA with his mother and father Geneva Spears-Lewis and Earl Butler.
He received educational instruction at Potomac School and Bakersfield High School, then graduated from the School of Barbers. His employment history consisted of being a licensed barber, an oil field crane operator with Gene Watson, and an employee with the City of Bakersfield Parks and Recreation Department.
Sammie Lee lived many years full of life with smiles, tears, and jokes all the while lovingly caring for his mother Geneva and his grandparents Sammie Hubbard and Essie Lee who both preceded him in death.
He leaves to treasure his kind and gentle spirit of life a devoted wife, Deddra B. Johnson-Butler, a caring mother, Geneva, his children Syron Sr., Judy, Lucresa, Cinnamon, Michael, Sabrina, 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 2 sisters-in law, Olevia Johnson and Iris Sanders, cousin-brother, Elmo Roby Jr. and a large host of beloved cousins and dear friends who will never forget him.
